Pro-ficiency, LLC is committed to respecting your privacy. This privacy notice describes how we, and some of the partner companies we work with, collect, use, share, and protect information in connection with the use of the Pro-ficiency, LLC platform for CME. This policy also outlines your choices and rights regarding the collection and use of this information.

This policy includes but is not limited to the use of the Pro-ficiency, LLC application, medical content developed by Pro-ficiency, content provided by third parties, reference material, clinical tools, and email communications serving our continuing medical education programs.

Information We Collect

Pro-ficiency, LLC, through direct registration or API transfer from third party partners may collect information that either directly identifies users or could reasonably be used in combination with other information to identify our users (“personally identifiable information” “PII”). Examples of PII include name, email address, telephone number, employer, IP address and any other information provided in combination with such identifiers. PII does not include information that has been made anonymous or aggregated so that it can no longer be used to identify a specific person, computer, or device, whether in combination with other information or otherwise.


Information You Provide

You may choose to provide PII in order to use or interact with the Pro-ficiency, LLC application. This may include your name, email address, telephone number and/or demographic information. For example:

  • If you register directly with Pro-ficiency you may be asked to provide us with your e-mail address.

  • If you request or sign up for access to the Pro-ficiency, LLC platform through a third-party provider, you may be asked to provide your name, email address, telephone number, services requested (for example, CME course, product demos, etc.), and any other information necessary to facilitate your request.

  • If you submit an inquiry using the Contact Us form or otherwise contact us through the Pro-ficiency website, you may be asked to provide your name and contact information

  • If you choose to participate in a Pro-ficiency, LLC program, you may be asked to provide additional information through survey questions and other means. These data collection tools are voluntary and may be passed over without consequence to your continued use of the Pro-ficiency, LLC platform.


Information Generated Through Your Use of Pro-ficiency, LLC

Like most websites and other online services, Pro-ficiency collects certain information that is created and recorded automatically when you use or interact with the Pro-ficiency, LLC application. This information includes the following:

  • Log Data and Device information. When you use or interact with Pro-ficiency, LLC our servers record certain information that is automatically reported by your browser (such as Apple’s Safari, Google’s Chrome, or Mozilla’s Firefox) or device each time you make a request to access the Pro-ficiency, LLC or when content is downloaded to your browser or device (“log data”).   • We may receive information collected by our distribution partners and providers of analytics tools. These data will be in compliance with our partner and providers privacy policies.

  • We may receive information about users including but not limited to demographic data, specialty areas and role, employer, and employer address. Data passed through to Pro-ficiency is at the discretion of our partners and affiliates and covered under those company’s privacy policies. Our partners have the right to blind the personal user data we receive.

We may use the information described above as necessary or useful to provide, support, personalize, and develop our Website, products, and services, including the following:


  • PII provided will be used for the purposes for which such information was provided. For example, if you share your name and contact information with us to submit a customer support request, we will use such information to respond to your inquiry. If you provide your PII register for a Pro-ficiency, LLC program, we will use the information to process your membership registration.

  • To create, maintain, customize, and secure your account with us.

  • To provide you with support and to respond to your inquiries, including to investigate and address your concerns and monitor and improve our responses.

  • To help maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our Website, products and services, databases and other technology assets, and business.

  • To provide data points as part of aggregate performance reports. These reports will be shared only with third party partners as named in each program and displayed on each program disclosure page.

  • For testing, research, analysis, and product development, including to develop and improve our products, and services.

  • To respond to law enforcement requests and as required by applicable law, court order, or governmental regulations.

Your Privacy Choices

You can visit the Pro-ficiency website without revealing any personal information about yourself. However, to obtain access to the Pro-ficiency, LLC enable content, we or a third-party partner will ask you to provide certain PII. If you choose not to provide this information, you may be unable to obtain our products and services or create an account with us.

You have the right to receive information from us about the categories of PII we maintain about you and the sources of such information. In addition, you have the right to request rectification of any PII that is inaccurate or incomplete. However, for record keeping and compliance purposes, we may retain certain information collected from you, even if inaccurate or incomplete. In addition, some PII may not be deleted because of regulatory, compliance and or legal requirements. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your PII.

Data Retention

Pro-ficiency does maintain PII as required for regulatory, compliance or legal purposes. In addition, we may continue to store anonymous or anonymized information for any legitimate business use described in this privacy notice.

Third-Party Links

This privacy notice only applies to the Pro-ficiency website and the Pro-ficiency, LLC application. However, our Website and Pro-ficiency, LLC programs may contain links to third-party sites or services. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content of third-party websites or resources, and our privacy notice does not apply to any sites that are not controlled by Pro-ficiency, even if you access such sites via a link on our Website. You should review the privacy policies and terms of use of any third-party site before providing any information.


Our Website is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 18-years old. However, if the parent or the guardian of a child under 18 years old believes that the child has provided us with personal information, the parent or guardian of that child should contact us at [email protected] to request the information’s deletion.
