Markus Saba is a seasoned pharmaceutical senior executive, distinguished professor, and accomplished author renowned for his extensive expertise in global and healthcare marketing.
Markus Saba is credited with the successful launch and global management of some of the pharmaceutical industry's most prominent brands, including Prozac, Cymbalta, Zyprexa, Cialis, Humalog, and Trulicity. His geographic responsibilities spanned Africa, Asia, Japan, and the Middle East, and he brought his strategic insights to various global locations, having lived and worked in Dubai, Geneva, Kobe, Hong Kong, Philadelphia, and Indianapolis.
Boasting a remarkable 25-year career with Eli Lilly and Company, he has held multiple marketing positions and spearheaded global marketing efforts for the diabetes business unit and neuroscience franchise at the company’s worldwide headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana.
For the past 6 years, Saba has been sharing his wealth of knowledge by teaching healthcare business courses across various programs at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, including Undergraduate, MBA, and Executive levels. He leads the Health Care Concentration in the full-time MBA Program and serves as Executive in Residence for the Center for the Business of Health. As a faculty advisor for Student Teams Achieving Results (STAR) and a member of the Business School Alliance of Health Management (BAHM), he plays a key role in shaping future healthcare leaders.
As the co-author of "Brand Plan Rx: The Marketer’s Guide to Building a Thriving Health and Wellness Brand," Professor Saba stays on the forefront of healthcare trends through consulting. Heading a firm, he conducts innovative training programs in brand management for numerous pharmaceutical companies.
